Question: Herbal remedies for a sore throat?

My throat has been killing me for awhile now, and I hate taking medicine. Are there any herbal remedies that might help?

While having a bad cough which ended up giving me a sore throat, one of my coworkers suggested taking one tablespoon of a mixture of vinegar and honey. She told me to try a 1:1 ratio, but if the vinegar is too strong for me, add more honey. The vinegar taste takes getting used to, but my cough went away and the honey soothed my sore throat. I don't like the effect that I get from taking medicine, so this works for me. Hope you feel better. If your throat is really giving you a bad time, you should probably get it checked out to make sure it's not strep throat or tonsilitis.

Herbal- I don't really know anything in that category But... maybe some ice water would help. Or maybe just suck on an ice cube. and there's also chloraseptic brand lozenges-they have something in the middle that makes your throat numb-and they taste alright. hope I helped a little.

Gargle with warm salted water avery couple of hours to bath away bacteria. Take tylenol or aspirin. Chew on ice or put an ice pack on your neck on the outside to help take down swelling. sip on water a lot as it also washes away bacteria on your throat.

Make an infusion of either sage or thyme. Said to be good for sore throat.
