I just started taking bio-identical hormones?
Last week, I went to see my doctor about taking hormone replacement therapy. I am in menopause surgical menopause after hysterectomy and I'm having a LOT of symptoms. I asked him for the hormones because I was having " quality of life" issues and really needed some hormones.He prescribed me bio identical estrogen and progesterone. Bio identical means they were plant based and they are NOT the synthetic hormones made from pregnant horse urine.Anyway, even those these hormones are non synthetic, they still have risks because they are still hormones.If anyone here has experience with hormones or pharmacy or medicine, I would really appreciate your comments on this.My doctor gave me the presciption but he did ask me to sign a paper saying that I understood that taking these hormones puts me in a high risk category of getting breast cancer. Would appreciate your advice on this if you have some knowledge about this.Thanks,Robin
What can I do about PMS symptoms? Does Bio Identical hormones work?
I am 45 years old and I have PMS. Symptom are fatigue, bloating, I gained 10 lbs mood swings, depression for about 2 weeks out of the months. It really cramps my style I was on birth control pills Yasmin and it really worked. The problem is, it raised my blood pressure, so I had to stop taking it. My doctor put me on another brand of BCP, the lowest does possible. If it doesn't work, I don't know what to do.Does anyone know anything about bio identical hormones? do they work? Is it affordable?Can anyone help?I really don't understand why there is not an effective treatment for women with perimenopause and menopause. It like when you turn a certain age, a woman disappears.There has got to be a answer
My hormones have been checked and now use a Bio-Identical Hormone cream and thyroid medicaiton..?
Do either of these affect the 'seratonin' in my body? Is that what I need to get me out of this slight case of 'blues'? How long does it take to work if thats what I'm taking care of. Could someone explain 'seratonin' like I'm a child so that I can understand it ?

The " regular " hormones so many of us are taking supposedly relieve your symptoms, but don't replace your lost hormones. " Bio identical" hormones supposedly do. This is supposed to help you in amazing ways with ageing and all types of health problems that happen as we age. In theory, we don't have to accept all these ageing problems if we use " bio identical" hormone treatment. Does anyone have any information on this?
