FIBROMYALGIA NOT CLEARLY DEFINED
Fibromyalgia is an illness that cannot be clearly defined and
may mimic other conditions and as such is more accurately called
a syndrome rather than a disease. A disease is an illness that
laboratory and physical exams expose with very specific symptoms.
In fact, 70% of fibromyalgia patients meet all the diagnostic
criteria for chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). The major difference
is that with fibromyalgia there is musculoskeletal pain.
FIBROMYALGIA EFFECTS WHO AND ITS SYMPTOMS
(return to top)
Fibromyalgia is a common and may effect as much as 4% of the population
and if found mainly in women at a ratio of 20 women to every one
man. In some people the pain can be severe and disabling and in
others there is only mild discomfort. There is muscle pain which
may be general and localized tender points but there is no inflammation
or effect in the joints as is found in arthritis. The stiffness
and pain usually comes gradually and worsens with physical straining,
overuse or fatigue and is especially found in the soft tissue
and muscle of the thighs, lower back, neck, shoulders, chest and
ribs.
CAUSES OF GETTING FIBROMYALGIA
Although there is no known cause of fibroymalgia evidence shows
its onset from physical or mental stress, infections, inadequate
sleep, injury and sometimes from rheumatoid arthritis. The present
concessus is that sufferers may have lower levels of serotonin
which helps one sleep and explains the exacerbation of the response
to pain. Fibromyalgia tends to run in families but as yet the
genetic weakness that may cause it has not been discovered.
According to "Reversing Fibromyalgia"
by Dr. Joe M. Elrod
HGH IMPROVES SLEEP AGAINST FIRBROMYALGIA
“There is reason to believe that lack of delta sleep (deep
sleeping patterns occurring in the later hours of sleep), leading
to growth hormone deficiency, is at the heart of many of our problems
as fibromyalgies. While the pituitary gland secrets growth hormone
(somatotropin) around the clock, the largest spurt of growth hormone
secretion – as much as 80 percent of it – occurs during
delta sleep.” Poor sleeping patterns and lack of deep sleep
are common denominators among fibromyalgies.
HGH PROTECTS MUSCLES AGAINST FIBROMYALGIA
(return to top)
As you move about during your waking hours, microscopic tears
occur in your muscles, Growth Hormone has a role in repairing
your muscles. People with fibromyalgia tend to have muscles that
are tighter and less flexible than those of most people, so we
can infer that our muscles would be more subject to microtrauma.
If we get more than our share of tiny muscle tears and less than
our share of (HGH) somatotropin, the result is constant muscle
ache and pain that is characteristic of fibromyalgia.”

fibromyalgia and also on evidence of the benefits of increasing
the release and utilization of human growth hormone in relation
to this syndrome.
