1. THE SHOCKING FACTS ABOUT OSTEOPOROSIS (return
to top)
It is interesting, that in the West where people digest larger
amounts of calcium, especially
dairy products, there is far greater incidents of hip fractures
and death due to bone loss or what is known as osteoporosis. In
fact women in the West have a higher chance of dying from osteoporosis
than from cancer. 1
in 4 women suffer from osteoporosis while only one in eight
men suffer from this condition. The Osteoporosis and related Bone
Disease National Resource Center reports
that "Osteoporosis is responsible for more than 1.5 million
fractures annually, including 300,000 hip fractures and approximately
700,000 vertebral fractures, 250,000 wrist fractures, and more
than 300,000 fractures at other sites." This will continue
to increase until we get at the root of these problems. In fact
in the last decade osteoporosis has increased sevenfold.
Milk is not the answer and studies show the those that drink milk
less frequently or not at all actually have healthier bones with
far less fractures and breaks. Studies also show milk is linked
to other problems including obesity, heart disease, and cancer,
and is likely to be contaminated with antibiotics, hormones, and
other chemicals, including dioxin, one of the most toxic substances
known.
2. THE MAJOR FACTOR CAUSING OSTEOPOROSIS (return
to top)
In order to get to the root of this problem one needs to understand
the major contribution towards bone loss. The bones of our body
are in a constant process of renewal through the action of two
cells. The cells that form new bones are called osteoblasts and
the cells that break down bones are called osteoclasts. You can
imagine what would happen if the formation and growth of new bone
continued without being held in check. Your bones would soon become
so large and distorted that you would look 10 times worse than
Frankenstein. From birth to age 30 there's a steady increase in
bone mass because the osteoblasts exceed in cell build up more
than the osteoclasts in tearing down bone cells. After age 30
the opposite becomes increasingly a reality so that men over 50
have reached 2 percent of bone formation while bone reabsorption
is 2.2%. This loss occurs throughout the body in bones that anchor
the teeth, the hips, the legs, and the spine. This results in
atrophy of the jaws, and also brings about shrinkage of height
due to loss of water in the intervertebral disks.
3. SHORT TERM HGH THEARPY IS NOT THE ANSWER
(return to top)
Studies now seem to indicate diminishing supplies of growth hormone
results in inactive growth hormone receptors in the bone as we
age and is a major cause of bone loss and resulting fracture of
hips. However, short-term treatment of osteoporosis with human
growth hormone has not for the most part shown improvement and
some cases has even resulted in loss of bone density. One would
think that since growth hormone had its original therapeutic use
in young children deficient in growth hormone in order to stimulate
the growth of their skeletal bones that there would be even better
results in older people. A six month study by Dr. Rudman in men
over 65 showed human growth hormone increased bone density by
1.6% in the lumbar vertebrae. However, there was no increase in
other areas of the body such as the femur of the leg, and radius
bone in the arm.
4. TWO YEAR HGH THEARPY STUDIES SHOW WONDEROUS RESULTS
(return to top)
However , an unpublished study done at Bengtsson's Laboratory
led by Gudmundur Johannsson over a two-year period on 24 men and
20 women between ages of 23 and 66 that were severely deficient
in growth hormone showed significant bone density improvement.
There was significant increase in the density of bones that form
the hip joint and the vertebrae of the lower spine and significant
increases in calcium, osteocalcin, and two types of collagen which
are all a major markers of bone formation. The study also revealed
those with the worst bone loss condition to receive the greatest
benefits. Even more amazing, all this study continued to get even
stronger bone density after the two-year study as they continue
taking growth hormone.
5. STUDIES SHOW LONGER, MORE ABSORBANT, & STRONGER
SPINE (return to top)
Bengtsson said that their patients also increased in height with
the greatest height increase being one-and-a-half inches from
a growth hormone deficient women. This happens because growth
hormone increases bone mineral content in the disks and also increases
protein synthesis. Most of the growth occurs in the intervertebral
disks between the bones of the spine which are like shock absorbers
and consist mostly of water. Because protein synthesis increases
the protein holds on to the water which tends to ooze out with
age. This results in the spine getting longer and also stronger
because of increased bone density.
6. HGH ON CULTURED BONE CELLS (return
to top)
Swedish researchers tested H G H on cultured bone cells and found
that growth hormone acts directly on the osteoblasts to stimulate
new growth of bone. The availability of vitamin D-3 is also increased
which when combined with calcium and has been proven to increase
bone mineral density and the reduction of fractures among the
elderly.
7. POST MENOPAUSAL WOMEN BENEFIT FROM HGH (return
to top)
There was also a one week study on post menopausal women which
revealed an increase in the level of osteocalcin needed for new
bone growth. Although the osteoclast or breakdown of bone continued
at the same rate the fact that osteoblasts for bone building increased
indicates that the use of G H during every turnover cycle induces
a positive bone balance in women.
8. HGH THEARPY UNLIKE DRUGS FORMS BONE (return
to top)
All of these studies indicate that research of one year or less
is ineffective and misleading as to the benefits of growth hormone
in the treatment of osteoporosis and other bone conditions. In
the first year growth hormone therapy tends to result in a slight
decrease in bone mineral content and bone mass because the bone
remodeling process is being restarted. However, after the first
year to year and a half the bone mineral content increases along
with bone mass so that the reverse is true. To date, new hormone
like drugs such Didronel and Fosamax can turn down the metabolism
of bone loss and even freeze it. However, it takes a natural anabolic
agent like growth hormone to activate growth hormone receptors
in the bones and actually form new bone.
9. OTHER IMPORTANT PREVENTATIVES AGAINST OSTEOPOROSIS
(return to top)
The use of high quality homeopathic human growth hormone such
as Pro-Blen H G H is a very small investment to significantly
contribute towards the prevention of the tragedy of osteoporosis
that brings humiliating dependency, severe pain and early death.
The other important things to do in order to prevent osteoporosis
are to get plenty of exercise which should include weight lifting.
H G H encourages one to exercise because it also is known to significantly
increase ones sense of well-being and thus motivate one towards
being more active. Remember to abstain from consuming large quantities
of animal protein and dairy products instead taking large quantities
of vegetables and fruits which provide calcium and vitamin C for
the building of collagen. Remember to get enough vitamin D-3 by
spending some time in the sun and if you can't then take some
vitamin D. Also, please do not smoke. Studies show that bone density
is 5 to 10% less at menopause in those who smoke.
